TOYS FOR KIDS | JOKER PUB CO-ED SLOWPITCH SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT RULES

  1. Pitch Count. You start with 1 ball & 1 strike each at bat for both men and women. One courtesy foul ball. (yes, you can strike out on a foul ball)
  2. Every other inning you change base running direction: Odd innings – run to 1st base first. Even innings run to 3rd base first.

If both feet leave the batter’s box in the wrong direction, 1 foot must touch home plate before running the opposite direction

  3. 5 men and 5 women in the line up and on the field at all times.

  4. Must bat man/woman/man/woman in line up or vice versa.

  5. If you get 4 balls in a row for a walk you get second and the next person gets the option. If it’s not 4 balls in a row you only get first

  6. Ball bouncing over fence is a ground rule double. - Ball bounces off a person and over the fence is a home run.

  7. Homerun rules for both men and women: A hit over the fence = dead ball out and opposing team receives a run (for entire game including final inning) or immediately give the umpire an offensive mulligan ticket to have the result of the homerun stand.

Home run (offensive mulligan) and defensive mulligan rules: Offensive mulligan rule: Unlimited use - If a ball is hit over the fence, that team can have the result of the homerun stand instead of the regular homerun rules if they immediately provide the umpire with a mulligan ticket. If a batter strikes out an offensive mulligan can be used to get 1 more pitch.

Defensive mulligan rule: ONE USE PER INNING - If the team on defense does not like the result of a play, the defensive team may immediately provide the umpire a defensive mulligan ticket to have the result of the play voided. If the defensive mulligan is being used to take away the result of a homerun, the number of defensive mulligans used has to equal the number of runs generated by that home run. The runners go back to where they were at the beginning of the play, and the batter is up to bat again with a 3 & 2 count (1 pitch no bitch). If a home run is generated off a (1 pitch no bitch) an offensive mulligan is not required, and the homerun stands. You are only allowed one use of a defensive mulligan per inning.

All mulligans must be purchased prior to the at bat for home run and defensive use.

We will have separate Championship Game mulligans. They will be sold just before the Championship Game. You may still give your unused mulligans to another team still playing when your team is out, however, only Championship Game mulligans may be used during the Championship Game.

  8. 10 run rule in effect after 5 innings. No new inning after 1 hour 10 minutes.

  9. The umpires’ decision is final and there are no game appeals allowed. No arguing an umpire's call.

  10. Must be 18 or older to play in the tournament games.

  11. Pick-up players are allowed only if you do not have enough players to field a team. All pick up players must be on a roster, so they are covered under our insurance.
